Igenix Lyme Report

Hi

Last week I got my Igenix report with IgM negative (only band 41 positive) and IgG positive with 30, 34, 41, 58 positive (so effectively 2 bands positive from the ones that matter - 34 and 41). There is an I against 31 band. My CD57 came out to be 70. I have been having symptoms indicative of Lyme for a year now. Can this be a false positive or does this indicate that I do have Lyme?

My symptoms had come up even 4 years back (first time in life) on moving to San Diego from India but things had gone back to normal on its own after 2 months.

Girlie- Are you sure that IGG pattern considered CDC positive or Igenex positive or both?

I thought it required 5 bands to be considered CDC Surveillance positive. Or does Igenex interpret positive because of the particular 4 band pattern that did light up?

SD92127- I suspect most would agree you are dealing with a borrelia infection. I am sorry. If you are currently experiencing any symptoms, I would recommend seeking treatment.

I still count only four IGG bands:

"30, 34, 41, 58 positive"

LOL

Unless you are combining the IGM with the IGG bands. Is that how Igenex does it?

Or do they count the IND on band 31 as the 5th band?

Hope this helps clarify. Girlie is correct your results are Igenix positive for Lyme. She is also saying you need 5 bands to be positive to be considered positive by the CDC which is part of the frustration with their guidelines. Your results are not CDC positive sine you do not have 5 positive or EQ bands. In other parts of the world if you have one band positive you are considered to have been exposed to Lyme. Based on our collective experience on this forum we would interpret your Igenix results as positive for Lyme exposure but not CDC positive.
