We just received a DNA Connexions Lyme test kit for my 16 year-old son. While we're aware that he could have Lyme as well, we're almost certain that he does have Bartonella. We'd like to minimize, as much as possible, the chance of a false negative with this test. So we're wondering if there might be a better time to perform the test. We've read the test kit's instructions regarding 30 minutes of exercise, which we will do.
We've noticed a cyclic pattern with some of his symptoms. about once per week, his occipital lymph nodes will swell up and hurt. This is accompanied by a headache that extends from the back of his head over into his sinuses. This lymph node swelling and headache lasts only about one day, and then clears up until the following week. I'm thinking that perhaps the lymph node swelling might indicate the presence of more bacteria, and therefore might be a better time to perform the test. Does this make sense, or is it even a factor?
