Traci, i experienced very similar sx in the beginning. Racing heart (even while resting) and extreme palpitations. Wasn't able to get out of bed for months. Hospitalized multiple times. Had times where i literally thought i was dying and was giving my wife intructions for the kids futures and finances. It was horrible.
Finally around the 6 1/2 month mark of being on iv rocephrin and oral biaxin and flagyl, bvt and a multitude of supplements/herbs things started to improve. Also found out lymes had messed up my thyroid around same time and started taking a thyroid hormone replacement. Now at 8 months of treatment i can say that i haven't had a real bad heart episode in 5 or 6 weeks. Still get palpitations but not nearly as severe. I hope the worst is behind me.
Hang in there it will get better. Doc told me the same thing about exercise but i was in the same position, even a trip to the bathroom made my heart freak out. As i slowly started to feel better i started taking small walks. Heart sx have been getting a little better every week. Resting heart rate has lowered, still above prelyme but at least its not 114 anymore. Now if i could just get rid of the horrible spine and joint pain.
I think a combination of the abx and getting my thyroid straight is what turned the corner on heart sx for me. Maybe ask for a thyroid test? I never had any issues with mine until lymes. Good luck, i feel for you. I know how bad it sucks to go through what you are dealing with. Hope your symptoms improve soon.
