Astroman,
This is scaring me half to death. High doses of magnesium cause Candida to exponentially increase in the gut? You have to take calcium with magnesium?
I've been taking megadoses of magnesium for 2 years now. I can't poo if I don't. I've never taken calcium. I thought calcium supplements caused kidney stones.
After reading more of this (impossible to read all of it), I'd now say this guy is a little on the extreme side.
A lot of that site is just his opinions. Magnesium alone is not going to increase candida. Tons of carbs and sugar is worse any-day. This is just some individuals. There were some good links off that site. As with most personal sites and blogs, double and tipple check any info before making assumptions. You only really need calcium if your low on it. This is tested in yearly physical blood tests. I was low after quitting real milk and cheese, so I take calcium now.
Note: the typical Western diet has a lot of calcium in it already, more than magnesium. Which is one reason so many westerners have low magnesium levels- to much calcium lowers magnesium.
