Diatomaceous earth/herx?

I am confused...

My herbalist has me on DE as a first step in parasite elimination (there will be multiple steps coming shortly). At the moment, the only thing I am taking is DE in the morning and charcoal at night. I have been feeling AWFUL....massive head to toe night sweats (including sweating from places I didn't even know had sweat glands like the palms of my hands!), deep bone pain all night long, daytime exhaustion, achiness, sinus pain, back of neck headache, etc.

My main question is this... I know that DE can lower the parasite load, but is it also acting like a biofilm buster and releasing lyme and co all over my body? SInce I am not taking any lyme/co killing herbs at the moment, I hope this is not the case?

Alternatively, can you get massive body pain from parasite die off? How do I have pain all over when the DE only goes into the gut (It's not getting into the bloodstream, like an herb or abx would, so why foot pain, for ex)?

Thoughts?

I researched DE and tried it for a short bit, I would dissolve it in my coffee or yogurt. I know that you have to start out very slow and build up to higher dosages. Could be you need to back down your dosage. I started at like 1/4 tsp for a few days then worked up to 1 tbsp over a few weeks.

It made me too constipated so I had to stop it. You have to make sure you drink a ton of water with it so you don't get constipated. I am sure it can cause alot of die off symptoms, especially if you are taking a higher dosage amount.

What happened with the parasite treatment? Did you continue with it? What all did you do? Was it successful?

The worst of my symptoms are in my head too, but if my brain and blood is full of horrible parasites, I need to get them out of there. I believe DE crosses the blood brain barrier too.

I believe DE is also supposed to be a binder, so it should carry the yucky stuff out with it. I'm not saying it won't be unpleasant, but starting at a low dose and taking it for a short time might not be a bad idea. I will just make sure that I drink a lot of lemon water with bicarbonate of soda to help things along.

Nothing else I'm taking is having any real effect, so why not?

If you try it, do let us know how it goes. If I am able to get my house remediated for mold and have a safe, stable environment to live in, I will be able to try more treatments that are likely to be hard to handle. Right now, I have to be careful.

You should never start off with more than 1/8 a tsp. And continue at 1/8 a tsp for at least three weeks before trying to increase. If you decide to increase from there, do it very gradually. Otherwise you can get herxing symptoms.
