Hi all!
After fails with some atbx protocols for chronic Lyme, I was agree with prof. KDM on new start - Cowden protocol and HBOT (my symptoms - chronic fatigue, OI, muscle pain after activity, inflammation and sometimes brain fog are harder last 4 months and I need to fix it!)
Im little bit affraid of some next atbx treatments - and this is, why I choose Cowden and HBOT.
But, Im really beginner with herbs.
Im looking for full Cowden Support Program, but with HBOT, IVIG and gut treatment is this all too expensive for me :-/
Please, is the best way buy only some important herbs for Cowden, or its not correctly?
Where is best place for buy (some discounts, programs, benefits...)? Im from Czech Republic, EU country.
Still looking for right way to start with Cowden, and Im looking all experiences of experienced peoples with this protocol.
Please, let me know! Thanks a lot!

Hi and welcome to our forum Martin,
I'm not experienced with the cowden formulas but I'm sure we have members that are.
They will be along to offer some input on this matter.
Many members here do herbals so feel free to keep asking questions when needed.
We also have experienced members that do ABX and other treatments.
We do encourage all new members to read our "New to Lyme" start here thread at the top of the page.
It has important information on detoxing, Lyme, testing, symptoms and much more.
Take care and I wish you the best of healing, Jo

I found iHerb and Yahoo good places to start shopping around for Cowden's Nutramedix brand tintures.
Pureformulas and Vitacost are also good prices but not all items are available.

Hi Martin - welcome to our community.
I haven't done the Cowden protocol, but there is a schedule they provide. I don't know if most people do use it.
Take a look - it may help guide you.

Martin, welcome!
I saw Cowden speak last year and wasn't impressed. He was extremely rude and didn't provide much info when the Q&A session took place.
Because of this, and researching others who have done herbals, I ended up starting Buhner's protocol. I like Buhner a lot. He doesn't sell a brand, he truly just wants to help people.
Good luck with whatever you decide! Lots of us take buhner's herbs so ask questions!

Just started Cowden formally this past week. After being clinically diagnosed in late Dec and after 60 days of Doxy and untold hrs of research and books, I settled on Cowden.
Kit comes with all the supplements and a nice folder to keep track. Best to buy right from the US Nurtamedix web site.
The link provided by Girlie is the program on the Nutramedix.ec (Ecuador) web site. US law wont let them post medic stuff. Read through this.. It covers it all.
Not the cheapest way to go but IMHO the most compete. For me rather than spending money on flawed testing to figure out what co-infection i might have, I want a program that is setup to deal with all aspects needed of the treatment. Bug and parasite kill, detox, some immune, heavy metals, etc.
Cowden is not the most popular on the this forum but I personally know 2 people who had had good success with his.
Plus there are some herbs like Cats Claw in Buhner's core protocol i really like. So once I know I can take this programs full doses, i can always add to it.
Good Luck
Mark

One more comment on starting
To start you order a 1 month program on the US website. Be sure to specify the month (meaning start with Month 1) Its about
$350.00 US.

Theres a UK herbalist called Napiers that ship all over the world. They stock everything for Buhners protocol not sure about
cowdens.
They are much cheaper than other places too. I got a litre of Japanese knotweed tincture delivered to Spain in a few days for £33

I forgot I read this back when I had real bad fog.
So this is a part of and article below in the link farther below. I actually need to read through this again. This is 2008 but the herb listed is in the Protocol on day 81.
Not sure the reasoning to treat these later in the program.
Also there's a section in article where the author states Cowden recommends you have LLMD to tailor the program to the person but he developed the package for people on their own.
Section on Babesia
NutraMedix is planning
to introduce a series of new
Microbial Defense products
in 2008. The first of these
will be available around the
time that this article is pub-
lished. It is called "Enula"
which is one of the com-
mon names for the primary
herb in the formula
(Elecampane). Enula also
incorporates Blood Wiss
(Vitis tiliafolia) and Jalapa
(Ipomoea jalapa).
According to Dr. Cowden,
Enula has shown to have
powerful effects against a
number of parasites includ
ing worms, protozoa,
microfilaria, and Babesia.
In Dr. Cowden's experience,
he believes that Enula may
be able to eradicate Babesia
from those with chronic
infection.

Oh I forgot about
the Enula. I took it for many months - not sure it did anything.
Seemed like I was taking water.
It’s part of Dr J (DC) protocol for Babs.
