High tibc, borderline high iron

Hi, my lab results show high tibc and borderline high iron. From what I understand, a high tibc indicates low iron. Does anyone know what these results mean?

TIBC: 502 normal range 250-450
Iron: 143 normal range 59-158
Transferitin: 28 normal range 15-50
Ferritin: 55 normal range 30-400

From what I've read, high TIBC does indicate iron deficiency. But your iron and ferritin are both good.

What does your Dr. say?



Maybe repeat this test in another month or two.

Thanks! Yes I have Lyme and Babesia. I haven't asked the Dr about this but I'm thinking it could be contributing to my severe fatigue. I can't find anything about tibc and iron being high.

I wouldn't say your iron is high..it's within the range.

I've seen posts about Babesia messing with our red blood cells, and treating babs can kill off the RBC.

Okay. I was thinking about Babesia maybe causing that. I am currently treating Babesia.
