First post - just wondering which of my abx are treating which infections

Hi everyone,

I'll do a proper introductory post soon but I want to do a quick rushed one now to get answers.. !

I can't remember which antibiotic is for which infection..

I'm on IV's,
So:

IV Ceftriaxone - I know this one is for Lyme itself
IV Azithromycin - ? babesia but unsure
IV metronidazole - I know its a cyst buster but which infection does it target??

Also wanted to ask which infection Cypro is for (I know its an awful, last resort drug)..

I will try post an introduction soon - I'm only 22 but been sick since I was 7 and am in Aus where Lyme disease isn't a thing and we can get treatment, my doc has put his medical license on the line to help me because he's basically said I will die if we don't.

Hi - welcome!

Just a quick reply for now- Azithromycin is also for Lyme - and is sometimes paired with an antimalarial to treat Babs but it’s not effective on its own (for Babs)
Metronidazole is a Lyme cyst buster.

Cipro is for Bartonella

Just make sure before you start taking the cipro that you double up on Magnesium for the whole time and week or so after you stop. At the very first instance of tendon pain or stiffness, or increased peripheral neuropathy or nerve pain, stop taking Cipro and call your LLMD.

I lasted only 19 days on Levaquin (in same class as cipro) and had to stop. But 6 months later I tried Cipro and had no reaction even after long term use.
