Hi - My mom has chronic/neuro lyme. Oral antibiotics have not helped. We want to try IV antibiotics but her doctor does not prescribe and does not know anyone who does. Help?!

Hi and welcome to our forum,
I am sorry that your family is going through this.
Others with more experience or knowledge of an llmd that uses Iv therapy may not be on right now, so be sure to keep checking back for responses.
We encourage all new members to read our "New to Lyme" start here thread at the top of the page.
It has good and helpful information on Lyme, symptoms, detoxing and more.
Others should be along .
Take care, Jo

Hi there. Yes I see a doctor from San Francisco and I am on IV. You can email me and I will give you his name.

What type of treatment protocol has she used? I didn't have much of a response to antibiotics until I started herbals,
Dr. Rawls'
website will give you an idea of what is involved.

Thanks for the messages. My mom has had extensive testing with many labs and is currently on a supplement regime tailored for her by sabre sciences to fix her methylation issues. She was on a heavy oral dosage of malarone & zithro to treat babesia but it only made her worse (and not herxing worse). Dr Fry also came back positive for the fungus. Her main symptom is neurologic and I read that neurolyme responds better to IV rather than oral which is why we are looking to give that a try. She is really in bad shape (rarely leaves the house) and I fear that if we don't find something that makes her feel better soon, she is going to give up.

Hi alisa_in_sf - welcome to our community.
I'm sorry your mom is suffering so much...but she is fortunate to have a daughter be her advocate.
I do have some LLMD's listed for the SF area...but I don't know which ones do IV treatment.
If the one Sheeks mentioned doesn't work out...and you don't have any other options from members here...send me an email and I'll give you some options - you will need to call each one and find out if they do IV antibiotics.
Question: the malarone/zith making your mom worse. How was it different than a herx? (if you don't mind sharing the info)
