I suffered this for a very long time. At first it was just affecting my vision in the left eye and I blamed old age but if it were it should affect both my eyes. It was persistent, recurring, and it drove me crazy.
I believe the lengthy course of Fluconazole finally got it but the itraconazole was needed for the lens of the eye and the Terbinafine for the muscle directly behind the eye. I used them in reverse order of listing.
If he is suffering from a similar condition to what I experienced he should feel the Terbinafine go to work in this location within an hour of taking it. If it is a fungal infection it will often present unilaterally. Bacterial infections often spread very quickly to the other eye presenting bilaterally.
Pay attention to the agitated part of the eye. Does it move around or does it cling to that one part of the eye? What really scared me is the Opthamologist saw nothing.
I hope this helps but I really hope its not the same thing that I suffered.
After treating the eye for a god awful long time until it felt better there was still dry crumbly morning discharge in both eyes but this has cleared with the HEPA filter in the room. I assume the mold spores were continuously agitating it.
