High Triglycerides and Lyme

Our son was diagnosed with high triglycerides 18 months ago but this condition has not responded to the prescribed medications. He has had numerous symptoms and been to many specialists, and we now suspect he has chronic Lyme this entire time. Is there a relationship between high triglycerides and Lyme? Is it possible that the Lyme caused the high triglycerides and that is why it never responded to treatment?

Hi Lynn - welcome!

I wouldn't be surprised if the lyme infection could affect the triglycerides. Lyme disease is systemic.

Has your son been tested for lyme?

If I were you I'd either find a LLMD to evaluate your son...and/or do an Igenex WB test for $250 (IgM and IgG)

Yes, there's a direct coorelation. High triglycerides are simply a symptom of inflammation which is the whole problem in lyme. My triglycerides are through the roof

I doubt medication for that will do anything since it's not adressing the cause. Kill the lyme/bartonella/babesia/mycoplasma etc.. and the TG will go down
