Doxy improvement.

My girlfriend has started to take 600mg day of doxy for her lyme and she's improving tremendously.... i'm exceptic of her improvement.... she takes it twice day 300mg x2.

400 mg daily is the usual dose that LLMD's prescribe.




But, the lyme treatment guidelines (Burrascano) state up to 600 mg daily can be taken.

Is it perhaps fasciculations? (muscles, not veins)

So is this person taking doxycycline or minocycline or both? I'm confused.
Can you even safely combine these two abx? Won't they cancel each other out?

OriolCarol: how long has your girlfriend had lyme for, and what symptoms does she have? Any other abx than Doxy?

Just asking because I'm about to go on doxy myself, although not 600mg..Right now i'm suffering from pretty bad arthritis pains in my wrists and knees, also severe back pains.

It's also possible that she has bartonella as a confection...and those symptoms are 'showing up'

I think the twitching may be related to herxheimer response to the medications. Def happens to me, and much of my herxing is related to bart so I get a lot of intense neuro stuff (including twitching and various types of neuropathy) happening when the herxing is strong.

Is your gf doing various things to detox? I think magnesium supplements (like malate, threonate) can sometimes be helpful for twitching.
