Alchohol in the tonctures an issue??

Hey so I am taking 6 different herbal tonctures for bartonella. These are the herbs I take and the dosages I plan to work my way up to slowly:
Iha : 50% alchoohol at 3/4 teaspoon 3 times daily
Csa: 65% at 1/2 tsp 3 x
Hawthorne: 25% at 1/2 3 x
Cordyceps: 50% at 1/4
Chinese skullcap: 60% 1/2 3 x
Japanese knotweed: 50% 3/4 3x

Will I have an issue with the alchohol at these dosages? I really don't drink because I want to feel good without alchohol and it suppresses the iune system which can't be good for people with Lyme and other infenctions. Oh, and I have a.f adrenal fatigue so I try to stay away from anything that will stimulate them too much. Well, that's everything. Thanks. I

Kyle - it is a small amount of alcohol... but I understand your concern especially if you end up taking 10 or more tinctures 3 x a day and you’re dosing 1/4 tsp each.
What’s that - close to 8 tsp or almost 3 Tbsp. per day.

Some people put the tinctures in hot water and let it dissipate but I’ve read that doesn’t do much.
Boiling may remove the alcohol but would that change the effectiveness?

Do you think the doses Ill be taking and at the frequency it will be close to like 1 beer or a half a beer?

When I was taking tinctures or remedies that contained alcohol I was very concerned so I put the remedy (remedies) as sometimes I was taking 2 different ones at the same time in a glass of water, let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes and then I drank it. I had no problems or side effects.

I think I was taking about 15 tinctures at one time and doing them 3 times a day. I had no problem. Hubby did the same.

There is a company called Hawaii Pharm and they make many non-alcohol tinctures.

Could someone please also convert my dosages into drops please? It's a little difficult to measure with tsps.

25-30 drops = 1 dropperful = 1/4 tsp.

Hey Sandyfeet, the amount of tinctures at the doses Ill be taking add up to 16 ml? Is 16 ml at 50% alchohol gonna even have a tangible effect?

Nope - you can take them before your meals.

So that's around 16 ml that you're taking and 1 alcoholic drink of spirits is around 45 ml (sorry I'm Canadian so I do things in ml lol). So the way I see it currently your dose is approximately 1/3 of a standard drink.

As I reached the full dose for three of Buhner's protocol at once I did find the alcohol content to be a bit high for me. I eventually found an herbalist who would tincture everything for me at 1:2 instead of 1:4 or 1:5 so I could reduce that somewhat. I still find the afternoon dose the hardest for me though.

1 tsp is 5 ml

I’m getting more than 16 ml per day... Or are you saying 16 ml 3X day?

Approximately equivalent to 1 whisky (a little more than one technically) spread across 3 doses.

This is the first time in my life I've ever known what it's like to start the morning with an eye opener or hair of the dog (or perhaps the hair of the tick) lol.

We do some combination herbals (Woodland Essence). I would suspect the total alcohol with a combined tincture would be less than doing them all individually. Just an option for you.

But then wouldn't you need to take 3X the amount if each dropperful is 1/3 Crypto, 1/3 Sida, 1/3 alchornea?

Eg If you're at 1/2 tsp of each then you'd need 1 1/2 tsp of the mixture, no?


...or am I off-base?
