I'm a 22M and have had IBS-D for over 4 years, been looking for a cause or cure since. Was pretty healthy before IBS and could eat anything without issue.
I think Lyme or another chronic infection could be the cause behind my gut issues. Besides GI distress, my only other symptoms are brain fog/fatigue and low energy. I don't really have any other Lyme symptoms like pain or stiffness.
I just did some testing with Armin Labs, and was wondering how someone who deals with Lyme would think of the results.
-Results-
Borrelia EliSpot *
5 Borrelia b. Full Antigen ! 2 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positive
5 Borrelia b. OSP-Mix 1 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positive
5 Borrelia burgdorferi LFA-1 1 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positive
The results of the Elispot tests indicate weak current cellular activities against Borrelia burgdorferi.
Explanation of antigens:
Borrelia-burgdorferi Full Antigen: Borrelia burgdorferi B31 reference strain (Borrelia b sensu stricto)
Borrelia-burgdorferi Peptide Mix: OspA from Borrelia b.
sensu stricto, Borrelia afzelii, Borrelia garinii + OspC
native + DbpA recombinant.
Borrelia-burgdorferi LFA-1 (Lymphocyte Function Antigen 1)
Own body protein + Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto
(shared epitope). LFA1 can be associated with autoimmune
diseases: collagenosis, Rheumatoid Arthritis,
vasculitis. If positive or borderline positive look at:
ANA, CCP-antibodies, ANCA.
Please recognize that there were less lymphocytes for
stimulation in the EliSpot, the result of the current
activity can be higher
(General T-cellular immune deficiency? Virus infection with EBV, CMV, HSV1/2, VZV, HHV6, Coxsackie-Virus?).
Recommended tests:
EBV-EliSpot, EBV-antibodies, CMV-EliSpot, CMV-antibodies,
HSV1/2-EliSpot, HSV1/2-antibodies, VZV-antibodies,
VZV-Elispot, HHV6-IgG/IgM-antibodies,
Coxsackie-Virus-IgG/IgA-antibodies.
Bartonella EliSpot *
5 Bart.henselae EliSpot 1 SI
0-1 = negative
2-3 = weak positive
> 3 = positive
The result of the EliSpot test indicates no current cellular activity against Bartonella henselae.
Please recognize that there were less lymphocytes for
stimulation in the EliSpot, the result of the current
activity can be higher
(General T-cellular immune deficiency? Virus infection with EBV, CMV, HSV1/2, VZV, HHV6, Coxsackie-Virus?).
Recommended tests:
EBV-EliSpot, EBV-antibodies, CMV-EliSpot, CMV-antibodies,
HSV1/2-EliSpot, HSV1/2-antibodies, VZV-antibodies,
VZV-Elispot, HHV6-IgG/IgM-antibodies,
Coxsackie-Virus-IgG/IgA-antibodies.

Hi Cameron, Welcome to our community!
Lyme can be the cause of IBS. You did have a 'weak' positive on the Elispot test.
You also reported ( in addition to the IBS ) brain fog, fatigue and low energy.
I certainly would consider that lyme and co-infections could be the cause of your issues.
Here's a questionnaire you can fill out - and see what your score is. You can assess the probability of having lyme with this questionnaire.
Do you have a lyme literate Dr. you can discuss your test results with?
