Is it possible for C4a levels to change dramatically within a only 5 day period? My Fiance is currently being treated for lyme. These results came from the exact same lab and lab director. The first doctor he saw came back with C4a as 1784, well within normal (0-2830). The second blood draw 5 days later came back with a C4a of 12,594. At this time much more testing was done as well indicating EBV past exposure, and some low levels of vegf and thyroglobulin antibody. We are unsure if the second results are reliable because the indicated Sex on his paperwork is Female. It really makes me question if this error was just a fluke or if his results were mixed up with someone elses. Any ideas?
