Lyme disease and high blood pressure

I have some episodes of unexplained very high blood and one very bad bout of vertigo. This landed me in the ER. I am 71 years old and have never had high blood pressure. I was just diagnosed with Lyme disease using the Western blot. I had to beg my dr to give me a Lyme test. IGG positive for burdorferi and 10 out of 10 bands reactive. IGM negative for burgdorferi and only band 23 reactive. Not sure what that means. Any help would be very much appreciated. My dr put me on doxycycline 100 mg 2x day for 3 weeks. Anything else I should be doing. I am also taking Chlorella and turmeric..

Several weeks of abx is only effective when you have an acute lyme infection - i.e. you catch it early and you don't have disseminated symptoms.

After being in ER for tests for stroke and heart attack, I was sent home and put on Losartan. That has helped with the blood pressure. Have you heard anything about connection with bacteria and magnesium? I have read that the bacteria use the magnesium in your body and that can cause cardiac problems so I am taking some magnesium supplements.

I have been doing a lot of research. Have discovered detox is important. It is convincing my dr that my heart problem, high blood pressure, is related to my Lyme. She doesn’t think it is. I do.

So this is where Dr Rawles book, Unlocking Lyme, came in handy. You need to use them ( classic doc) to rule out other factors also. My battery of test resulted me discovering 3 things.

1 50% blocked Renal Arters.
2. A 3 mm AAA that needs to be monitored annually.
3. A chlosteatomo in my ear. Which I had remove in Feb

You have heart, neck arteries, renal artery to check. All impotent.

So the 50% blocked renal artery..caused me to have to be on some BP meds but I did not know this prior.

So if you have a comprised system already, and at 58 I do, Lyme putting a stress on my kidney was enough to where it could not regulate BP anymore.

As I’m getting better I have weened off some of my BP meds with the help of my Kidney specialist. He does not believe that my Lyme caused my BP med requirement to increase 4 fold ,, but also acknolages that somehow I’m mysteriously getting a heather kidney.
