Where to get Pyrantel pamoate? About to start Klinghardt parasite protocol.

My Lyme Brain can't figure out the math on the Pyrantel pamoate dose of 1000 mg per day at bedtime for fourteen days

How does that translate to the package dose?

Each 1 mL: Pyrantel Pamoate 144 mg/mL (The Equivalent of 50 mg Pyrantel Base)

I’ll give it a shot

1 ml = 144 mg of P P

Then 6.94 ML would be 1000 mg

How precise does it need to be?
Do you have something to measure ML?

1 tsp is 5 ML

so 1.5 tsp = 7.5 ml * 144mg = 1080 . Close enough for a dose.

Looks like two ,, 2oz packs of the meds per 14 day cycle.

I'm trying out pyrantel pamoate. I've taken it twice in the past two weeks (it says to take it once every two weeks on the websites I've found), but Brian Rosner says in his book that you should take it every day for 17 days (but he doesn't say how much to take). It sounds like from what I've read in other posts that the dose that Klighardt recommends is a lot less than the one time dose listed on the bottle.

After taking it once I had a definite improvement in symptoms (even though I felt nauseous for three days). I just have no idea how often to take it. I think I'm taking about 700 mg at once. I can't get prescription anti-parasites, so I think this is my best bet.

Pin-x will only have a effect on pin and round worms ..hookworms ,ropeworms ,flukes and others may require strong herbs if you cannot get scripts ...ivermectin is one you can get for four-legged friends in a tube cheap ...and brendas herbal dewormer recipe on real food rebel website is effective ...make sure to treat until all the larvae have hatched and elimination is complete...

I think the Klinghardt protocol is a little over the top and unnecessary especially if you aren't even sure if you're suffering from parasites. Alinia is a good broad spectrum anti-parasitic, and there are herbs and natural treatments if you search for them. You should not need to be on anti-parasite meds for what, 9 months to a year?

Now that I think about it, I really should have started a new thread.. I'm not planning to do the Klinghardt parasite protocol and I was only asking about the dosage of pyrantel pamoate specifically.

I've already tried Brenda's parasite protocol and other natural anti-parasite treatments.

I just saw this while searching for posts on K’s parasite protocol. Can you describe your experience with Brenda’s herbal recipe?

Hurt my stomach a little but no other bad effects. I just took another dose this week. I also notice my eyes are matted in morning whenever I take it. Not sure what that means!

My kids have taken it too and it hurts one of their stomachs.

just for a reference point St. Louis doc had me on 750 mg of pyrantel pamoate 4 times a day for ten days. I know he has treated thousands of people for parasites

I took 2 tsp which is 9.85784 ml.

The box says there’s 144mg/ml. So 2 tsp would be 1,420 mg rounded up. This is a single dose.

You took 750 mg 4x day, which would be 3,000 mg in a day. So yo you took a little over double my daily amount. I weigh 86 lbs. How much you weigh?

I plan to take a 2nd dose in 2 weeks. This is my 1st time with any parasite meds. I have to be functional for the foreseeable future and can only risk being sick a couple days.

When you took the Pyrantel, did you take it alone or with another parasite med? How did it affect you - nausea, diarrhea, headaches, herxes? Do you know why Dr Y dosed it 4x day instead of 1x day?

Since reading your posts, I decided to go ahead and take a 2nd dose tonight. I felt fine today and had no issues.

I ended up doing 15 doses of Pyrantel pamoate. I missed a day between doses 6 and 7 because I forgot. I found it tolerable with mild, intermittent herxes. Had some gastro effects of bloating, increased bowel movements. Had headaches on a couple of days. Bad days were interspersed over the 2 weeks of treatment. I felt it was beneficial and glad I did a full 2 weeks instead of 2 doses.

Oh, I never saw any pinworms or roundworms, but I definitely felt like it was killing something. I would get bouts of increased symptoms and have lots of BM’s on any given day and feel much better afterward. Noticed changes in bowel function while on it. Stool was firmer and had to strain more. Also timing was different. I would have BM’s late at night, which was very unusual for me. It seemed to affect my sleep, too - staying up way too late at night.
