Just got back my igenex results - need some interpretation

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and I suspect myself of having Lyme. Here is my ignex results after two weeks on samento:

IgM: 18+ 39 IND 41 ++ 66+
IgG: 41+ 58++

only 39 is specific to Lyme and it's only IND. How likely is it to have Lyme? Should I take some abx and take another test?

Hello Rapidspider - welcome

I’m not sure if taking abx will help provoke a positive test result.
I think it could have the opposite effect?

I know some people have taken olive leaf extract to try and boost their immune function prior to testing.
The WB relies on the immune system mounting a response.

Hopefully others will post their suggestions.

Did you have a tick bite.. and/or EM rash?
I’m assuming you do have symptoms?

An ind isn’t negative - it means something showed - just not enough for it to be considered a positive.

Hi rapidspider,

As far as the test results go I would say it is up to you to be retested. I was curious but after I tested positive I never retested. It is possible if your immune system is inhibited that you would produce more antibodies after treatment and hence get a stronger positive test result. The test are pretty expensive though...

If you have symptoms, then I would say it is quite likely you have Lyme and possibly coinfections.

Actually I and my Dr. think my antibiotics may have caused a die off to make my PCR positive

hmm - interesting

I was thinking you were talking about the WB which is dependent on antibody response

A die off shouldn't affect PCR results unless the sample was something odd like urine.
