Minocycline and in second instance doxycycline.
The penetration of cephalosporins remain nuclear, some studys says yes and other that they can only pennetrate when meninges are inflamed and without inflamación there is poor or little penetration...
But in lyme patients the permeability maybe is diferent and if BBB is compromised they can enter.
Penetration into BBB has nothing to do with iv or oral administration, it's about
molecular size and solubillity. Les than 500 daltons and high soluble in lípids is mandatory. One example is minocycline.
Bactrim penetrate good the BBB (less 500 daltons), fluoroquinolones even better...
