I have been treating with buhners Bart protocol for about 7 months now. Things are better but got a ways to go yet. My brain inflammation is no longer constant more so waxing and waning.

All my cognitive problems stem from this inflammation. I went from constant inflammation to now periods of no inflammation at all. Then I get reminded that it's not over and out of nowhere inflammation and cognitive problems come back. They are not as severe as when I first treatmed.

My current prtocol is
6000mg of knotweed (powdered) 2000 x3.
6000mg houttuynia (powedred)2000x 3
Myco formula 1tsp a day
1 capsual of black garlic
Ginko tinacture
Eulthro 2 capsules a day
Curcumin 2 capsules a day
Milk thistle
30 drops of sida x 3

I just added the garlic, curcumin, eulthro, and ginko this month. I am having longer good days than bad. Just when I think that I'm turning a corner I get reminded that something is still going on. I want to get my motivation for life back. Once a social butterfly I avoid people because of some of the innapprorate thought s I was having while around people. I now have a social anxiety. I would never in a million years thiught I would feel uncomfortable around people.

I also want to see if herpes could be pounding my brain. This all stemmed from a stressful event a year ago.

Have you checked out Isatis, Alchornea and Rhodiola they are also part of the Buhner Bart protocol and may help.

I would consider looking into these herbals also Red sage, Bakial skullcap and Uncaria rynchophylla.


Implementing something like Jerrnigans Neuro Antti tox II cns/PNS or Pinella and Burbur may help with removing ammonia build up out of the brain.

Always do your own research and check for side effects and contradictions.

Your protocol does seem pretty good but if you are effected from herpes I would consider adding in antivirals either to your diet or via supplement. I don't see any strong antivirals in your protocol though garlic is decent if it is raw.

You ARE turning a corner. Be sure to keep track of your symptoms so you can see that. You will be a social butterfly again. It takes some time to heal not just from the disease but also how much it ravages all aspects of your life.

What are some good antivirals to reaseach? Do they penetrate the BB at all? Thanks all for the support and info.

I don't know about BB, but the things I've seen most recommended for virals is l-lysine (I take 500 mg capsules 3x day between meals) and monolaurin. I bought some but haven't taken it yet. It can cause herxing, so go low and slow. There was a good thread on monolaurin a couple of months ago.

I think oregano oil, lomatium, and olive leaf extract are really good anti-virals. Lomatium really helped me a lot.
