Minocin and neuropathy, herx o something else?

My polyneuropathy is much much worse on minocin... All body without excepction... Tongue, arma, legs, face... I'm afraid my llmd says not stop or it would be worse but i'm thinking in something autoinmunes from minocin.... Or herx?

When I take something that crosses blood brain barrier my neuropathy goes through the roof, even during off pulse. Actually a lot of times it's worse on 2 wk off pulse.

I'll try to suffer the pain and wait if it dismish... but i would like to know if it's a normal thing with people that take minocin.

I have neuropathy no matter what I take it seems. On...or off the meds.

Prior to taking the minocycline - did you not have it, OriolCarol? You were taking a different antibiotic prior to minocycline, weren't you?

Yes Girlie, i had it but it was minor and intermittentlly, now is constant... What i don't understand is that it was less severe even before stop taking mino/biaxin and then start claforan for one week and then mino/claforan... In this week off minocycline all has changed.... I don't understand anything sad

I don't think improve was coming from claforan, because i was better on mino/biaxin, then switched one week to claforan, with substained improvement and then... All symptoms returned, now i started again minocycline but it's worse.... I have lost this improvement...

I don't know if one week off of an effective treatment for lyme is enough to trigger the polyneuropathy worse... Maybe it's an inmune response and stop start stop start has causes this... Or bartonella playing a role... Why this ****ing bugs are so complicated sad

Well, I think mine is from bart.


So maybe until you do a good run on Rifampin...or Rifabutin..you won't get rid of the neuropathy.

The biaxin may have teased it...lol
