I was very interested in your response here. I agree. I'm convinced there are pathogens involved in many illnesses, mental illness included.

A couple years ago, there was a young man suffering from horrific unexplained headaches and pain. He'd been to all kinds of doctors who didn't find the cause. The local paper wrote an article on him. In the article, he sounded positive and was saying he was trusting God to get through it, etc. Just a few weeks later, I saw his obituary. I got the sense he had committed suicide. Knowing what I know now, I am very suspicious that he could have had an infectious pathogen.

I saw this movie. It's worth a look. Maybe it was bedbugs (pretty sure they are as nasty disease vectors as ticks)? I echo the sentiment here about stealth pathogens and the disconnect of western medicine, I mean how difficult is it for an MD to connect the dots of infection to neuropsychiatric involvement and vice versa?

Pretty darn difficult it seems...I think much of this "complex" is uncannily similar...like isn't myalgic encephalitis pretty much the same as enchephalomyelitis?

Anyway, the sound sensitivities of the main character, her hallucinations, paranoias, portrayed with sound effects, sounded remarkably Lyme-y.

Anyway, I wish more doctors had the freedom and carte blanche to think outside the box and prescribe ABX and order tests that would help so many of us suffering through the revolving door of continuing denials and delayed diagnoses.
