Once again I’ve got another rookie question, after another mri and neuro opthalmologist visit because of pretty much unbearable eye pain and vision disturbances, has anyone had severe eye pain or visual problems no one can diagnose or see what is causing it? Not to make me feel any better the neuro said lyme wouldn’t be causing this. This is by far my worst symptoms keeps me from doing anything st all outside especially. I Pray she’s wrong and the antibiotics start working very very soon for this pain and vision problems.

I had pressure behind my eyes and the eye exam with the Optometrist showed everything was fine - and that included her checking the Optic nerve for swelling .

Lyme and Bartonella can affect our eyes. And my optometrist insisted on checking the optic nerve when she heard I had LD.

I also have had eye issues.
Ten pass ozone and MAH has helped-
Ozone being injection into eye teeth space really helped also

What scared me was the neuro op said your optic nerve looked a little funny never explained or anything said it might be because your far sighted. Wasn’t a real professional answer. But I had just saw my opthamologist a few weeks before and he done a dilated exam so surely he would of checked my optic nerves I would hope

I don’t think we have anything like that close to here. Is it extremely expensive?

Check and treat for bartonella. But please check with your llmd and research side effects of anything for Bartonella eye issues.


I had many eye issues(Bartonella) and most have cleared with almost 2 years of treatment, but I do still get some vision issues when adjusting to darkness and light changes.


OI also do remember someone posting in the past about optic nerve issues and pressure. You can do a search here, just put Lyme in the search bo first so it searches this forum.

What kind of pain?

I have had vision problems -- at my worst, my eyes didn't seem to want to focus together. It was a real problem, especially for driving. I also had eye pain with my must recent flare -- felt like my eyes were strained badly. A lot of this seems to be related to inflammation that has gone down with treatment.

Sulfacetalmide is what my llmd recommends it is antibiotic drops and he says works great my eyes are fine now but if they act up I got a script for it.
