Wonder How Many others are Contracting Lyme from a Mosquito

With Lyme Disease being more prevelant in ticks each year, I suspect it's happening with mosquitoes.

Considering this woman's case of supposedly contracting lyme from a mosquito, I wonder how many others are as well? There's probably absolutely no way to know.

What we know through European studies... Starting to get really scary out there!

This is a good reminder that even though you may be covered in permethrin in an endemic area, doesn't make you 100% safe from Lyme Disease.

Yes. I did. I was in Paris Summer of 2013. We were in an apartment by the river getting bit by mosquitoes non-stop. One got my foot and it blew up like a balloon. It was swollen like I'd blown it up with air. I couldn't walk on it for 5 days. I put your average mosquito ointment on it and went about my vacation. My digestion clogged up pretty quick within the following weeks. Never recovered after that trip. Alternating diarrhea and constipation. I assumed I caught a bug. Boy did I! I started having light-headedness and fatigue within the year. The following year I started having nasty, call 911, panic attacks. I didn't see a Lyme doctor until early 2016. So yes, I'm one of the mosquito cases. In fact, my first Lyme doctor asked me about any random bug bites and I told him about my foot. I haven't had any other kinds of rashes or bites. He's the one that told me about mosquitoes.

Everyone is focused on ticks and that's good, but the best way to protect yourself from Lyme is to keep your immune system healthy and your stress down. My husband actually got bit more than me, but he didn't contract Lyme. He got tested and was told he been "exposed" but was not sick. BTW, almost everyone is exposed.
