I also have CIRS, bartonella, and Lyme, and other stuff. I started Buhner's protocols 9 months after leaving my moldy house. I have been on the protocols 14 months now and have made little progress. I still have some mold exposure. It is very difficult to find a non-moldy house where I'm from in the southeast. I'm house hunting now, and it's wreaking havoc on my health due to mold and chemical exposures.
I still have strong sensitivities to both mold and chemicals. I do not detox well at all. I can only tolerate tiny doses of herbs and pretty much most other stuff, because it makes my symptoms worse.
I have been told that sauna is one of the best ways to detox mold and other toxins, but I have not had the opportunity to do it. If you have access, I would highly recommend it.
My advice to you is to not start treatment yet. Honestly, it took 7 months before I felt like I'd gotten most of the mold toxins out. Once you verify you are out of mold exposure and feel like you've gotten the mold toxins out and are less sensitive, then consider treatment.
Also, do everything you can to minimize exposure to chemicals. Use non-toxic products with no fragrance, use air purifiers, etc.
As for binders, cholestyramine is the best binder for CIRS, but many have trouble tolerating it because it makes symptoms so much worse (herxing).
Bottom line, I would confirm no mold first, work on detox and any gut issues second, and then consider treatment for bart/Lyme/etc.
I forgot to mention about
herxes. Buhner's protocols cause herxing for many, if not most on this forum. Start at 1/8 to 1/4 of Buhner's starting doses and increase slowly.
