Unfortunately this isn't considered evidence that it exists in all 50 states. Last I read like 85% of people tested had a recent history of travel. Florida is interesting because of all the snowbirds (aka rich people who get sick of being up north in the winter and flock to their second beach homes). I mean... I feel it is probably everywhere at least to some extent. I'm just saying if you try to throw this at an MD be prepared for this response. California most certainly has Lyme though. Even by conventional perspective I believe

I agree mostly with Florida. However there was increases in Georgia and North Carolina, Virginia too. Probably equal amounts in South Carolina just unreported. I don't think Florida is far off. The climate is certainly good for bugs in Florida too.
now if they had a collective reporting system from all key laboratories...

not sure if it would ever be possible to get accurate reporting, in cross-state infection scenarios. I am sure border areas have this problem too. Maine-NH, NH-Mass, etc

Yeah I'm sure. It's definitely complex. Given that at least one species or another seems endemic to every continent on this planet I really struggle to believe the south US is sterile of borrelia. It'll be interesting to see what pans out in the future. Whether other species are detected or new vectors that were missed.

In regards to Florida, I think Dr Kerry Clark has been studying the question of borrelia in Florida and the South for a while:

Thanks sebreg...I was curious about
Florida, was thinking about
moving there.
Looks like there is no place to go escape TBD. was thinking the southwest maybe less TBD.
Well, a guess there are places with less TBD than where i am at now in Pennsylvania.
