Please Help, Is this Lyme Disease

I have a friend that was bit by a tick approx. 4 years ago. Had the bullseye rash. He was given steroids as treatment. There were subtle changes and he wrote off a lot in the beginning as getting older etc. Approx 2 years ago he felt like he was hit by a truck. For 3-4 months he had the muscle aches and body aches ( flu like symptoms) It was all he could do to get out of bed each day. That is now better. Since then symptoms come and go. He was getting severe leg cramps and cramps in his neck. That is much better now. he had the following symptoms which are now much improved or gone- problems swallowing, size of esophagus, geographic tongue, problems breathing when laying down, muscle twitching, and the feeling that something was crawling under his skin (neck area). Again these symptoms have improved so that they are not as severe and others are gone.

He know has slurred speech which has progressively been getting worse. He has muscle wasting in his hand. He feels extremely tired and is getting weak. Does have neck pain. Has Bells Palsy as well.

when tested through local lab he only tested positive for EBV. We then did the Igenex test. His overall results are below

CD 57

Lymphocytes Low 1.90
Absolute Count Low 34

We were thrilled because the CD57 was low (chronic Lyme) and IgG was positive. The IgM was only positive on one band, but I had read that since the other was IND that most doctors would consider a positive with other symptoms, etc. Igenex only needs two bands to be positive.

The LLMD that we went to see said he doesn't have Lyme. I have read on other posts and have seen other members with muscle loss, slurred speech, etc. I am sure that I forgot to list some of his symptoms but believe me every time I looked at this forum, other members who were Lyme positive had his symptoms. I thought from his symptoms that it would be Neuro Lyme/ Chronic Lyme. Now we are starting from the beginning again. Just wanted any thoughts you have on the test results.

Thank you for your response. Yes the doctor we did see was an LLMD. She specifically said slurred speech and wasting in his hand was not Lyme. Your confirmation of your symptoms means the world to me. We will see another doctor this week. I will then figure out how to change this posts to change what I need to to search for new doctors. Thank you so much. We go this coming Thursday for a second opinion but I have to say after how the first appointment went, I am a nervous wreck. He desperately needs to start on antibiotics. After the appointment I feel like his spirit was broken. I am praying the second appointment goes better
