its a tough call when to rotate or identifying when you plateau. atleast my opinion. I have a had many ups and downs like that what you are describing. i think most try for 3 or 4 months, to see what type of response they have.
I am almost done with month five of lyme/bartonella, primarily azith/mino/rifabutin. the first 3 months seemed easy, but the last two months seem tougher. increased fatigue mainly. i thought the muscle twitching was resolving early on, but its still there, just less pronounced. I have tinnitus too, had that all along since infected. early this year it seemed less, or seemed to wax/wane over time. but now its more constant, so i question weather its a side effect of the azithromycin versus a herx. actually i wouldn't be suprised if all of what i am feeling is from the antibiotics versus symptom flare (herx), given i have been on this stuff for months now.
i may try for doing another month to make six months on rifabutin, my blood tests are OK, and generally i have improved greatly, just these couple persistent lingering symptoms, which may or may not side effects, herx or simply damage done from the infections.
Wow thank you Sierra. I constantly wonder the same thing when I am symptomatic whether it is a flare from the herx or a side effect. My LLMD told me a side effect would be much more obvious and pronounced than the herx...(ie, severe diarrhea, rashes, etc.). But I mean I always wonder the same things as well. My main symptoms that have gotten better but still there is the fatigue, nausea, air hunger, and bodyaches.
Glad to hear you have made strides though. I'm hoping to make many strides in the next coming months as well!
