For almost a year now I've thought I had lyme and treated a few times. Never had a positive test and had sarcoidosis years ago so thought that was the other option coming back.
Just got a call from a new llmd that I have a positive Erlichia and lyme but not a lot of lyme. Babs and bart were both neg. I've been off antibiotics for 3 weeks now since the stomach pain became to much. It feels about 80% better. When I saw the new llmd he prescribed doxy/azithromax/tinadazole/biciliin. I did not start any of it yet. I'm wondering if this should change due to the Erlichia? I've read about having Erlichia you should only stay on tetracyclines? Is this true? I just got Rawls and Buhners books in the mail and in at least Rawls he says for Erlichia to use antibiotics. I was thinking about switching to herbs.
I wanted to do IV rocephin but insurance denied it I'm wondering if they will approve it now with the positive test. But should I even try for it if I have Erlichia?
I don’t know how the LLMD knows that you don’t have a lot of Lyme?
You do know that even though you had negative bart and Babs tests - it’s likely you have one or both ?
When treating with antibiotics for Lyme, Ehrlichia usually is taken care of. Doxy is a tetracycline.
Re - approving IV abx - you might need a cdc positive test - did you have that?
