High free testosterone with low total testosterone and Lyme disease in females

First of all, I realize that all of our hormones are going to be all over the place until we go into remission. And I know what labs need done and how to read ranges (former medical lab scientist). And to Not go off Lab ranges like most doctors and NPs do (that burns me so much)! 😤

Now, for the questions: how many women have experienced high free testosterone and low total testosterone, and what have your doctors done to try to normalize it?

My free testosterone is 8.3 pg/mL!! For females, the normal range for a woman below age 50 is 0.06-0.08. YIKES!!!!! Yes, you read that range correctly.

My total testosterone is low at 10 pg/dL, So the testosterone is being pumped into my serum like crazy, and I don’t know what needs to be done. My family doctor is useless, telling me over the phone that my labs were ok. 🤨 I don’t see my llmd until a week from today, so that’s the reason for the question, and to gain more information than I’ve found.

I do not have PCOS, but I do have endometriosis. FSH and LH were not ran, and the breakdown of estrogen was also not ran, because she didn’t understand how to order them, but progesterone was too high. I was on a compounded mix for that, and stopped last night. Last labs I was Estrogen dominant. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not all of the sex hormones were ran, because my family doctor didn’t listen to what labs to do when I spoke to her. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I just checked the Testosterone test I had...and it doesn't say whether it's 'free' or 'total' or what.


Mine was 0.5 nmol/L and the range shows < 1.5
