My mom and I were chatting yesterday and the topic came up about
lyme disease and she mentioned the bull's eye rash. It made me think of a bug bite I got on my back while camping in the yard of our old house one summer four years ago. (see picture)
At the time I assumed it was just a really random-looking spider bite, and was quite proud of it, actually (because there were always a lot of spiders around). But the thought of ticks never entered my mind. Looks like it was about
1.5" in diameter, and by the time I noticed it and took pictures, it looks as though it was already starting to fade, and did fade away a few days later, if I remember correctly. I've read one or two stories online about
people who didn't notice a tick bite until someone pointed it out to them, and one picture looked similar to mine...
At the time, I don't remember feeling any adverse affects and it didn't hurt at all, so I just forgot about
it.
I've always had a not-too-bad inherited anemia, and just last year I got to start going to a doctor and found out that I was iron-deficient as well. I've never been very well-feeling, but my symptoms didn't seem important or "real" enough to tell my doctor and I've always survived through them anyhow (always tired, allergies, sensitivities, digestive/eating, etc etc etc.). On any of the chronic illness symptoms lists I can check off quite a few, but since I already lead a quiet life and eat healthy and don't have very many responsibilities, and nothing seemed as bad as the symptoms as I've read about
other people having, I've just went on living with it.
On the other hand, if I could find out that there really is a name for whatever's wrong with me, it'd be great to find out, and return to my doctor with something I could really ask her about
and get tested for, not just bombard her with random symptoms that probably won't add up to something other than "you need more exercise" or a prescript
ion for anti-depressants.
Does this rash look like it could be from a tick bite ? Any help would be very appreciated ! Thank you ^___^
