"There are interactions with ivermectin that can cause fatality within 12 hours with absolutely zero treatment. A doctor can tell you within 5 minutes if you are at risk for these interactions."
- Can you elaborate on this?
Great news!! Thanks for sharing.
Yes, the parasite Loa Loa and Ivermectin is apparently a deadly combination.
when I took a small dose (I always start my medicine at 1/3 or 1/4 dosage and wait 24-48 hours for interactions) I got EXTREME neck pain. I googled "neck pain and ivermectin" and every page said "Go to the emergency room ASAP" (ha)
It went away in 12-24 hours, and I tried it again in a week and the pain did not come.
I just don't want anybody to read this, run to the store, try it, and get hurt, without actually doing everything they can to make sure they are safe. Ivermectin is probably very safe (LD50 of 2mg/kg I believe, please double check) and has a half life of 14 hours. William Campbell received the Nobel Peace prize for discovery of it and cure of 25 million people of River blindness. That being said, make sure you you don't have Loa Loa the eye parasite.

Serious or fatal encephalopathy has been reported rarely in patients with onchocerciasis, and heavily infected with Loa loa, either spontaneously or after treatment with ivermectin. In these patients, pain (including neck and back pain), red eye, conjunctival hemorrhage, dyspnea, urinary and/or fecal incontinence, difficulty in standing/walking, mental status changes, confusion, lethargy, stupor, seizures, or coma have been reported. This syndrome has been seen very rarely following the use of ivermectin therapy. Pretreatment assessment for loiasis and careful posttreatment follow-up should be implemented in all patients considered for treatment with ivermectin for any reason and who had exposure to Loa loa endemic areas of West and Central Africa.
