Question: Anyone have kidney issues with Lyme?

Not yet. I get tested avery other month or so due to the abx that I take and so far it has been normal. Liver enzymes on the other hand go up and down depending on the abx that I am on.

Healing98 - major. Have had low GFR and high creatinine on and off for at least 5 years. Now numbers worse. LLMD and naturopath have always made it sound like it happens a lot, but with numbers getting worse, trying to see if it is really that common.

have you had your GP/PCP look into this? With clinical test showing positive I imagine that they would be willing to do ultrasounds, MRIs and other tests to get to the source of the problem.

You may want to look into some herbs that favor the kidneys and see if they help.

Had ultra sound that showed no blood cut off to kidneys. The nephrologist just blew off findings of real low urine creatinine and low creatinine clearance, low GFR, frequent urination, thristy, so finding a new one).

Have started taking herb mix naturpoath suggested, cordyceps, baking soda drink and about to start back on glutathione.

Zimca - what you wrote is not stupid, I am . That's why I posted - to look for possible answers and if anyone else has experienced this. So many things can be Lyme related, but not able to find some of these happening on Lyme boards. So your replay is greatly appreciated, and I will add back in activated charcoal, or more.

Ive already posted about mine - first time ever a month ago got a high creatinine and low GFR.

Retested two weeks later and both in range.

I'm due for another test...so we'll see.

I think it's my new protocols - never had anything close to these in the past 4 years.

Good news is, Zimca, I have seen a good amount of people with frequent urination with Lyme. So didn't want to make you nervous about kidneys. Thank Girle has had it off and on?

Have reduced protein intake. Had already lost 20 pounds with Lyme Disease in last few years, so what is there to eat? Carb restriction on top of that.

I have been nervous before, but this one has me out there. And can't figure out why LLMD didn't seem concerned about low GFR 5 years ago. I've seen other people with LD have that, but not a tremendous amount. Now even protein in urine on a couple of 24-hour urine tests.

Can Lyme do all this? Toxins? Co-infections? I've been trying to find the answers and struggling to.

I'm relieved to hear that! My urinary frequency is insane.

It seems Lyme and "off" kidney numbers are not really correlated. But I've had several naturopaths and an LLMD indicate it happens, especially with GFR. But I don't see that in a lot of posts now or from years past.

Lyme Disease has also lowered my leptin to very low. That might also be impacting kidneys and numbers. Makes my head hurt. Wish I could just get it out of my mind, but we are always looking for answers. Maybe this one is simple that blood pressure has caused this.
