Does anyone know of an insurance plan that will cover IV abx?

My doc said I'm a perfect candidate for IV due to my serious brain affliction along with stubborn gut issues but i lost my insurance years ago and only have Medicaid now. Obviously IV abx are too expensive out of pocket but im wondering if anyone has experience with insurance plans that cover a substantial time of IV abx.
I'm curious if paying for the plan may be benefitial enough if it gets me several months of IV but i figured the community here would have some knowledge of this.

There are lots a variables. State of residence is hugh. There are 7 or 8 states that have laws on the books that support lyme patients and treatment. RI for example requires insurance companies to cover lyme treatment within policy restrictions for as long as the prescribing practitioner requires it. IV medication is sometimes treated differently than normal pharmacy Rx items, so once I met my out of pocket deductible the IV meds and supplies, and home nursing services were paid for 100% with no additional co-pays. I had Blue Cross and they covered my IV for well over a year.

Check what your state mandates, then contact a local support group to see which insurance company was the best to deal with IV cases.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily CT covers IV abx if ordered by a board certified neurologist, rheumatologist or infectious disease doc and Dr J is infectious disease. Now i have to find which plans will cover it

Yah. The nurse i saw, anyway. She said with the level of brain affliction i have I'm the perfect candidate

And was this based on imaging...or what you've told them...or their exam?
(Don't feel pressured to answer the question...if I'm prying too much)

I think it’s is a good idea for you - hope you can get the financial assistance.

It’s not an option for me - as you have to be in their clinic often - something like every 4-6 weeks to test the medication.

Not doable travelling from the west coast Canada.
The NP said some people from other countries just move to DC for 6-9 months - yah - as if that’s gonna happen!!!

I was amazed at the map they have in their office of all the countries people travel from to see them. Zimbabwe, UAE, Mongolia.... crazy.

Getting there every 4-6 weeks is doable for me since i live in my truck so i can just stay in the outer banks, a day drive from DC.

No they didn’t . At my initial consult I was asking about it - how it would work if I did need them.
