Should I avoid caring for child with strep throat?

Stay away if you can! I worked with kids and had to temporarily leave my job because I kept catching their colds, it made my lyme symptoms so much worse. I think bows the time to put yourself first and see if they can get someone else to watch him. Good luck

I third the opinion here to stay away. If I were you, I wouldn't come in contact with the kid or anyone else in household until they've been completely recovered for days if you can help it.

Strep throat was the sickest I ever was in my life before Lyme. I was 20 and otherwise healthy as far as I knew. I was bedridden with fever and pain for 3 days Fri-Sun. Saw doctor on Mon and got a shot of abx in my behind. It was one of the few times in my life I could feel abx working.

Still, it took a week to get my strength back and almost 2 weeks before I felt completely back to normal. Way worse than any flu I ever had.

That was almost 30 years ago, but I still remember.
