Sweats continuing -- why?

Normally night sweats are a babesia symptom for me that get worse during a flare or a herx when restarting treatment.

I just finished two weeks of abx and Mepron on Friday. It's Sunday night now. I noticed the night sweats continued steadily throughout last week and now this weekend too. This is unusual. Why would that be?

I worry about babesia becoming resistant. Other symptoms like air hunger did improve during this round though. I've been treating babesia most of this year.

It’s possible you are herxing - the Mepron has a long half life of 2-3 days so it could easily be building during the 2 weeks.

Are you on the 2 tsp twice daily dose?

Btw - did/do you get bad head pressure behind your eyes while on it?

I like that theory. I did do the full second week of it for the first time ever (all 5 days instead of 3).

I've never had much head pressure from mepron. Maybe my head is emptier than yours, haha. ;) It causes me more emotional side effects.

Yes, 2 tsp twice daily.

That does make sense - if you did two extra days then...that you'd be feeling more from it...and lingering.

Interesting about the head pressure. That makes me think that I have had a lot of bacteria in my brain...as if it was 'just' a common side effect that you'd most likely feel that.

My head may be full......but most likely rocks in there...hehe.

I have lots of neuro symptoms so I'm assuming I have a fair amount of bacteria in my brain too. People can have varying side effects to the same medication. Some abx make me feel like I'm walking sideways, but I don't get the common side effect of dizziness from mino. Weird.

I've treated for babesia too, and the sweats keep continuing. I don't think I've been having other babesia symptoms though.

Are night sweats really just confined to babesia? I have them bad sometimes but when i address my adrenal function before going to bed it's much less. If i eat a bit near laying down, tank down a bunch of electrolytes, keep a glass of salt water nearby and Dr M has me on .5mg hydrocortisone at night- i sleep better and have less sweats.
Is it that babesia may be causing the adrenal issues or that sweats can be of other sources?

That is THE question.

I’m barely sweating now - but I did sweat more when taking Mepron for Babesia - is it because it was targeting Babs... ?
I’ve read sweating is a side effect of Mepron.

Now maybe that is because some people reported sweating on it - but maybe they were treating Babesia and it was actually s herx - not a side effect.

It’s not easy determining what is what.

It's been more than a week since I've taken it. Still sweating every night. It can't be in my system anymore.

i don't know for sure. Taking 3,000 mg per day for 5 days straight with a 2-3 day half life. (Dr. J's protocol is double dose compared to what some LLMD's prescribe)

Could it not still be in your system for over a week?

I don't know what to think about anything anymore, lol. Maybe? I'd prefer to think that than that the babesia isn't responding to it. This round did help a flare of air hunger.
