Herx? Or something else?
Sorry I feel like I’m askin the same question all the time!!

Itchiness comes out of nowhere, turns into red bumps and then in a few min they are gone.

Should I be worried or try up the detox? Or back off herbs for a few days?

Happens once every two weeks or so.

I had the same thing constantly when my symptoms first started in 2009. Over a period of months, it slowly dissipated and then only occurred on random occasions in the years following. It took me over 7 years to get diagnosed. I tested positive only for Lyme and ehrlichia but have symptoms of bart and possibly babesia.

Don’t really know if one of the infections caused this symptom or if it was a histamine or mast cell reaction due to the infection. The allergist who was trying to help me at the time had me on Singulair, Xyzal, and one or two other antihistamines. I took it for 2 weeks and quit. My symptoms were no different with or without the drugs.

I guess I’m not much help other than I had it, too.

Did you add anything new? Lomatium and andrographis are known to cause hives. I’m not aware of any others.

Nope not added in any new herbs, I have started a new face cream containing benzoyl peroxide but I think it’s more likely one of the co infections than that.

Has yours resolved now?

Might want to lay off the face cream for a bit in case it might be connected?

Have you tried any antihistamines or things of that nature? could be MCAD related like WalkingbyFaith mentioned?

Have you had any other skin manifestations throughout your illness?

I had a chicken wire looking rash on my inner thigh which I put down to either bart or my hot water bottle. It also looked a lot like like toasted skin syndrome.

That went away with coconut oil.

This mast cell reaction... is there anything I would need to do for that?

Oh and to answer your other question no I haven’t taken any thing for it as it pops up so randomly and disappears quickly

Could always try antihistamines and see if they help. Lonnie Marcum wrote a great article with suggested antihistamines for MCAD, can use some basic over the counter ones (I use zyrtec and allegra): https://www.lymedisease.org/lyme-sci-mcas-agony/

But if the hives aren't bothersome and the episodes are short you might not need to do anything... I'd start getting worried if the episodes lasted a while or were gaining in strength...

How long have you been treating for? and how long have you been having these episodes? these episodes might fade away as you treat the infections...

Could something else be causing this response? or do you think it is linked to the herbs?

I’ve been treating with herbs since January. Started with full protocols now just take jap knotweed/ crypto/ sida and houttuynia and Chinese skullcap.

Episodes started about 2 months ago, randomly.

Maybe I will see how I get on. My detoxing isn’t great. Don’t know if it could be toxin overload. Herbs? Face cream?

I just don’t know. I had my herbs this morning and no reaction so far.

I have had a rash before, but not like the one I have now. It has created pimple-like spots all over chest, abdomen and back that itch, at times, like crazy. The rash has grown and itches more after exercise.

So, as others have mentioned and written before, weird rashes/itchiness can happen. Just now sure what is causing it. I've read to detox more, or raising amount of herbs/meds can do it, which could go back to detox. In any case, detox can only help, if not overdone.

I get it on rare occasions now. I do get itchy bumps along my jawline more frequently, but the kind you described only rarely happen now.

That’s exactly how mine did. I would feel a stinging sensation like fire ants biting me and look and a tiny bump would appear. Then it would disappear and happen somewhere else.

I just googled “bartonella chicken wire” and others have reported it in connection with bart.

If it’s what I think it is, I had it most of my life, especially when cold, which I usually was. It was a purple splotchy look shaped kind of like honeycomb. It didn’t hurt or anything. That strangely went away in the last few years. My skin tone is more smooth, even and tan than it’s ever been and I’m 48 now. I’m pretty sure that is probably bart. So weird.

Yeah I’ve had the same thing when cold WBF. I actually have it know but this time it’s definately due to my hot water bottle.

So during the height of tx my gut was leaking . Everytime id eat - protiens and sugar would create huge histamine and inflammation reactions. ..first was soy ,then pinapple then peanuts ...i think its aflatoxin response with a insulted gi terrain. Vit c buffered always helped but only stopped after parasites addressed and vsl 3/kombucha sealed it back up

I did have the chicken wire/honeycomb rashes with Bartonella and the stratch like bart marks mostly appeared when herxing.

Luckily have not had any Bart rashes in some time now so Buhner Bart protocol did help with that.

I think its parasites like bart or something. I am not sure. But I had this and then with Ivermectin and other things like moxidectrin, both cycled every other other week for 3 days at 9mg and then they were between each other cycled, and then later cloves, it got under control. I think the lyme hides in the parasites and you can't get to them until you kill the parasites. might be why if you aren't making progress, this would explain things. Alinia also goes after parasites. I would recommend whole clove as loose leaf tea first. Moxidectrin takes 10 days to work, but it is stronger than ivermectin. Both ivermectin and moxidectrin are effective at parts per billion you don't need to take a lot. Ivermectin isn't suppose to cross the blood brain barrier so you'd want Alinia (or maybe clove) for that if you have neurological symptoms. That and fasting and I am trying out suana tip from the person who came here the other day. Given 3-4 months with the above ideas you should have it under control and can go back to lyme. I would bring up this information to a LLMD or LLND and get proper blood tests for liver/kidney levels first. You could just try adding cloves and fasting. I also got immediate releif from itching from Stevia whole leaf extract but so far that's only been me

Thank you ordgonhay, I think the Clive tea sounds like a good start, I have some cloves at home, would I just boil them with water and drink that?

My llmd is pretty useless so I’m not sure what to do from here maybe I give him one last chance and see what advice he offers.

My last blood test was in October that came back normal.

Do you take the Stevia on an empty stomach?

did a real test not quest or laborp...then treated with pharm for a month ,herbs fot a month and rifed for 9 months . Just finished a month of mimosa just to be sure ...i may have residual protozoa in lining still yet to contend with....

What lab? I did a test with DRG labs - nothing. I have lots of ropeworm, though. Mimosa pudica seed is helping to get more out. I’m having to take more than 2 capsules 2x day. Last took 3. May work up to 5. Taking cryptolepis at night, too.

Szabo246, some people take Stevia and it does nothing. Others really like it. I use to take it just straight from the bottle, about 1 teaspoon before bed. Now, because the tea has no sweetness I exclusively add it to the almond-milk chai clove/teasel/oregano tea that I drink 3-4x a day. the oregano really doesn't taste good and the almond/stevia/chai does a really good just to fix that. Total about 1 teaspoon. Before when I felt an itch, I would immediately take whole leaf stevia extract -- directly in the mouth. IT would stop the itch within seconds. However I brought this up and many people did not have that effect so it might not work for you. But it did for me. I thought it might be just the alcohol, so I tried that, no it wasn't. Also the Ivermectin was essential in getting over the itching. Again, this could be just me, but there were several other people colaborating from my experience and it was under the direction of my doctor who knows what is going on. I am just saying what worked for me.
