Price depends of region. Like anything,
location,
location,
location. LLMD's in Upper central US is about
1/2 of what was mentioned here already (and can Rx ABX). There are many NP's and Functional Health Chiros who cost even less but use herbs (cant do Rx).
Eating a diet that works best for you (if you have gut issues) is the first step if your thinking antibiotics. At least ditch the junk food if you have not already. ABX makes the gut worse, so start the race in tuned up condition.
I went only 2.5 years and was infected for at least 25- years, maybe longer. It was off and on since my mid teens, maybe more, hard to remember. I dove into the alternative heath thing before seeing an llmd which helped a little ahead of time.
I do have left over damage that slowly gets better. I could sleep again after ABX, but needed 10 hours a day for 8 months following. Now 2.5 years after, 6.5 - 7 hrs a night is usually just fine (a long as its quiet). 8's better after exercise.
The Drs I saw believe in supporting the whole body almost more than time spent on "critter eradication" as the body continues to heal after the lyme treatment if you are still supporting whole body health.
Some Drs dont want to do the "critter eradication" but know how to support the rest of the body, and some take insurance!!. I used them too, more affordable, just a $30 co-pay for 1/2 hr. Some know lyme, used to be LLMD's, but dont want to be associated with it for professional and legal reasons. Get in touch with any local lyme groups if you have any, goggle away- they know your local Drs.
