Burning eyes on rifampin anyone?

It's whats happening to me. Allergy? I have severe anxiety.... and nerve pain.

I’ve read that bart can cause red , sore eyes.

Tetracyclines are inefective to my bart. I can't take macrolides (i didn't start eritro, i was afraid), not bactrim, not cephalosporins (my ige was high)....

I have some pyrazinamide at home... but i don't know if it combined with rifampin can be effective.

I can not take rifabutin i had severe kidney pain... but i can tolerate rifampin... I don't understand

I'm taking a high dose of rifampin and i'm tolerating it very well now... Yesterday i thought i was going to die having pannick attacks every 1 hour and today i'm much better. The dose is 900 mg. 450mg every 12 hours and 120 drops of houttuynia every 12 hours.

It’s not recommended to take just Rifampin - you don’t want bart to be resistant to that one...

So you’re taking 1350 mgs daily?

Yes, girlie. I've been on mino for a year. It was the only abx that i didn't stop, but every time i was on tetra based meds my bart symptoms didn't improve.

But were you on it with Rifampin or Rifabutin for a good length of time?
Mino alone - not gonna do much for bart (I think you already know this)

My kidney function came back - and now I’m testing my maintenance protocol out. It has Rifabutin in it - so will test after I finish this week of abx and that will tell me if it’s the Rifabutin causing it - because previously I was taking D and D at same time as Rifabutin - and don’t know 100% it’s from the Rifabutin but now I’m not on the D and D anymore.
