Antibiotics for strep causing herx, what to do

I'm on my fifth day of Omnicef 300 mg twice a day for a strep infection. I'm developing a lot of peripheral neuropathy, which I've only had mildly in the past. The course is ten days for the strep, and I don't think it is safe to stop, my throat is still red and sore.

ascarined - what is your usual treatment for Lyme and co’s?

Sounds like you’re herxing. If it’s manageable - I’d continue.
Are you detoxing? Anything you could add ?

I've got sauna, nac, ala, alkaline water, and epsom baths, there's also burbur & pinella on the way. I had been taking 100 mg of mino for 6 months for neuropathy, it cleared up my gastroparesis and improved sensation in my hands. I'm not sure about taking it with the Omnicef, it could increase the herx. Most of my treatment had been Buhner, but it had plateaued a few months ago.

Your detox looks solid.
Might want to consider a binder.

Taking just one antibiotic could lead to resistance - I think you should consider adding the mino in at some point...

But I guess if ur not planning to continue with the omnicef then maybe that’s not necessary

Like Girle said possibly add a binder such as activated charcoal or Zeobind. Just be sure to drink plenty of water with it.
Also take it two hours away from any medicine/herbals/supplements because it will bind those too.

Hope you get some relief soon.

I stopped sida acuta and houttuynia and it has lessened, this appears to be a good combo for me, I think I'll continue it. 😆

Wwhich strep do you have? Did they do any testing or just diagnose on symptoms? Do you get strep often? How are you feeling today?

They did a rapid test, and said they would culture if the antibiotics were ineffective. I can't remember the last time I had it. I'm feeling much better now, the tinctures for bart were causing the neuropathy. Lyme must have been suppressing my immune system, I had been taking the tinctures at max doses for months with no effect, I'm now on 1/10 the dose and having a strong response.
