I'm taking all rifampin at once (900 mg) because i feel easy to tolerate that if i took twice day (stomach cramps, nausea etc...) i notice the same gi side effects with 900 at once than 450. But rifampin has a half life of 2,5 hours... If i take it at once... Will it be effective? Taking it twice day attack bartonella twice day right?

My LLMD had me taking it double dose at one time during the day. She was saying it's more effective that way...

My granulomas have dissapeared completelly but at 900 mg day... never at 600 mg... so maybe dossage is important depending on the severity of the infection.

I think most llmd’s prescribe it twice daily but some llmd’s do once daily dosing.
This is with the 300x2 vs 600 mg dose.

Can’t remember why you’re not taking Rifabutin - I think I already asked you - but don’t recall the answer??

It’s way stronger - it has caused a herx like I’ve never had before with any of the lyme and co’s abx.

The herxes are lessening as time goes on (so far)

Hi Girlie. Rifabutin caused me severe kidney pain every time i took it, but it doesn't show any abnormal parametrer in my kidney function, only pain, al it could be a herx but pain was enough severe to stop it.

Oh that’s too bad - were you taking the regular dose (150x 2) or double dose.

Standard Girlie, 150x2.

I feel my conective tissues weaker on rifampin and mino... anyone feel that? Maybe inmune response due to fql? If my body would be reacting bad to rifampin and mino creating anti-minocycline antibldies and rifampin, i should have the common injurys like gromeluronefritis, hepatic pain, anemia etc... really? There is something wrong with my collagen.

Having tendons, ligaments weaker does it mean that other internal organs can be weak? Like blood vessels?

I'm not sure about that.

But, when you look at the fluoroquinolone floxing - and risk of tendon rupture...they don't include the blood vessels, right?

Rifampin induces CYP3A4, which destroys coritsol and aldosterone and causes the kidneys to excrete salt. It never caused me any kidney pain, but it did make me pee a lot more.

Hi friends!

I had to stop rifampin because my liver enzymes go to 5x the normal range....

Today i'm going to start zhang HH-2, two capsules three times per day and some herbs of buhner (to protector endothelial cells) if my AST, ALT today after two weeks of rifampin are normal, i'll restart minocycline to cover lyme.

Can bartonella be succesfully treated with hh-2 zhang, sida acutta and japanese knotweed?

Minocycline had no effect on Bart.

You tried Bactrim, right?

And there’s also Rifabutin to try - same class but maybe won’t affect your liver.

Those are good herbs to take.

Is the Zhang hh2 the Artemisinin... or the Artesunate?

If it’s artemisinin - make sure you pulse it - so your intestines don’t develop an enzyme to render it useless.
If it’s Artesunate equivalent - I was told it doesn’t need to be pulsed but I’m not sure... so check that out.

Bartonella is often resistant to antibiotics, but you're the first to report it being resistant to minocycline. I found it to be susceptible to minocycline and also metronidazole. That might be an option if you can tolerate metronidazole. It gave me a headache.

Minocycline will work against borellia, but only the active form. The only drugs I've found effective against the persisters are Flagyl (metronidazole) and Depakote (valproate). The problem with both of these is that the persister bacteria do not die immediately. Nothing happens at first, and then a week later i get a huge herx.
