Just a guess here. Most if not all people who get chronic lyme have have some sort of immune system deficiency. This is a very broad statement as there are many form of immune issues.
If this were not true, then no one would get "cured" from the standard one month doxy script, and YES, many never go on to the chronic stages. And some have the bacteria easily detectable, but with no symptoms- this is known in the timber industry. There immune system is stronger or maybe just "normal".
Most people do not have chemical sensitivities either. For those who do, it might be an over-immune reaction, kind of like autoimmune. Example and possible link to this idea: Gluten is know known and pretty much proven to be one cause of autoimmune thyroid disease and thyroid nodules. BUT, is it just the gluten, or the chemical Round Up on in the wheat? Possible hint- American corn is also sometimes a thyroid issue, which also has round up on it. I thought this was BS for years, until I eliminated both. My twenty year thyroid med dose stabilized and my ten year nodule (tumor) completely dissolved per comparable ultrasound imaging. Convinced me.
