My doctor friend is trying to understand my condition and the whole phenomena of herxheimer reactions (herxing). He thinks that it is only known to occur in spirochete organisms (aka lyme, syphilis, etc.) but for bartonella and babesia he hasnt seen much medical/scientific evidence of that occuring.
Are there any published papers or data out there concerning herxheimer reactions in bartonella patients? Also, should herxes have a definitive pattern?
There seems to be evidence of jarisch-herxheimer reactions occurring with treatment for acute cases but is there evidence out there for herxheimer reactions occurring repeatedly and intermittently over a long period of time?
