I've usually post on here for question, but this time, it's to share my experience and maybe help other going through the same.
My story, in short:
I've been dealing with Lyme disease for almost a year now.
I see a LLMD that try to treat me with decent protocole, but due to elevated liver enzymes (AST ~65, ALT~110), I can never persue the protocoles for very long.
In order to try to figure out a way to see why I have blocked detox pathway, it was suggested that I consult with Tree of Life and do a Genomic Test. The expert that reviewed and discussed my results was dr B.M.
Genomic Test, what was found:
After talking with dr B.M, he said that my case was not complicated as I didn't have too many gene mutation but one that really stood out; my capability to assimilate IRON which apparently would be too high. He said that because of that over processing of Iron, too much free radical was spread around my body, hence making my MCAS worse.
He said that this was a "must fix" that would most likely result in an improvement of the ALT/AST within 6 to 8 weeks of work towards that.
How to fix it:
- Stop taking Vitamin C which increase IRON
- Stop taking Naturello Multivitamin that contain IRON in it
- Do not take Gluthatione OR NAC as my liver is already struggling with those
- Milk Thistle and ALA were good choices for detox supplement
He is also supposed to send me a list of 3-4 extra product to take to further help with the detox and the faulty gene.
So here where I am now.
I will post again on here in 6-8 weeks and tell you if all these advices proved useful.

Bumping for more views.
Alxander - I'm interested in hearing how you are doing in 6-8 weeks - how your Liver function tests are.

As a follow up on this thread.
The product suggested are VERY expensive. For 2 months worth of supply, it costed me 500$ US
I did pay because I'm in desesperate search of answer to my high liver enzymes.
Here are all the product suggested for me. If anyone ever had experience with any of them, I'd be more than interested in hearing about
it.
Active H2 ULTRA (replaced AQUA H2) for Oxidative stress
Biosuperfood F1 for Basic Nutrition
HFE Assist II to Reduces the free radical Hydrogen Peroxid
H2O2 Detox Liquescence to adress Iron Oxidation
Hydrogen Peroxide Scavenger (capsules) to Reduces the free radical Hydrogen Peroxide
Peroxynitrite Scavenger to Reduces the free radical Peroxynitrite
ResveraCel for NAD+

He told me a lot of the same things. So I’ve taken a lot of the same supps. Did he mention glutamate to you? I take something called glutamate scavenger II & III.
If i recall, aqua h2 didn’t do well with me. Can’t remember exactly why.
No noticeable changes with resveracell or h202 detox.
I took a different basic nutrition supplement from him.
He is constantly researching and finding new genes that could be big players. The first time I talked to him he was big on the iron thing. Last time it was the NAD thing and he had me take resveracell, pau d arco and apigenin.
I like the glutamate and hydrogen peroxide supps but really haven’t noticed anything major. I think i sleep a bit better.

That's interesting K07,
It seem that you are more or less satisfied with the practice.
What was your main objective with dr. B.M? To lower general pain from Lyme and co?
My objective is to get my liver enzymes down. I was told I would see results after 6-8 weeks, which means after I'll be able to judge after that one round of supplements.
He didn't talk about
glutamate during my consult.
He said that my case was pretty straight forward; that my main offender was the Iron Absorbtion gene

My goal was to address neuro symptoms, sleep better, less fatigue, better memory, etc.
Overall, i think it has helped but i’m not interested in taking gobs of supps for rest of my life. They are helpful for now though.
Your situation should be easier to gauge since you can see if it works via labs. Please update on if his supps work for you.

As promised, here is an update.
3 weeks after taking Dr. B.M supplementation suggested to me based on genomic test here was the thrend with my problematic liver enzymes.
Before starting supplementation:
AST: 42 (10-35)
ALT: 123 (5-40)
GGT: 7 (8-61)
3 weeks after starting the products:
AST: 42 (10-35)
ALT: 82 (5-40)
GGT: 7 (8-61)
I don't want to get excited to quickly here.
But dropping 40 points in 3 weeks, I'd like to think that his recommendation are on point and helping my detox.
I'll report again in 3 weeks when I do a new labwork.

Alexander - your liver enzymes rose while taking abx, right?
And did you stop abx and then go on the protocol?
Reason I ask - just stopping abx will usually bring liver function back.
That’s what happened to me.
Or did you stop abx for several months with no improvement of liver enzymes?

Absolutely! In 3 weeks. I hope it confirm the trend and not prove that it was just one abnormal result... haha!

K07:
MCAS is not something thatb was on my radar until a few weeks ago. (I’m having a bump on my mouth palate that sometime itch or get bigger)... I suspect MCAS? I know very little about
this yet.
So I don’t think this is adressed at all with my current dr B.M regimen.
