I’d like to add my own questions and comments here, too, as they relate to the topic.
I have been doing Buhner’s protocols for a long time - going on 2 years. I started out with JKW, cat’s claw, gou-teng, and danshen/skullcap. Later I added sida acuta, kudzu, bidens, houttuynia, alchornia, ashwaganda (cheap brand powder), milk thistle, hawthorn, rhodiola (capsules on the last 3) and have remained on those.
I briefly did cordyceps, EGCG/quercetin and dropped those.
Obviously, this is a LOT of herbs, although at mostly very low doses. (I am not recovered and am a complicated, sensitive case.)
As time has gone on, I have added new protocols for parasites and antivirals. IN ADDITION TO all the stuff I have remained on and consider to be my core protocol. That is probably not advisable. I’m sure an experienced Buhner herbalist would probably tell me I’m doing it all wrong. To clarify - the additional protocols I added have only been used intermittently or for brief periods of like 4-6 weeks (so far).
If anyone more knowledgeable and experienced with herbs can comment on this, I would like to hear what you have to say.
