I've looked a lot into kidney issues with what I have happening, but the good creatinine and/or good GFR with low protein throws me. Not that it means something is wrong, just I haven't come across that. Maybe a malabsorption issue?
Real low protein can cause swelling, but haven't heard of water retention. It's great the creatinine is good. Have you had a 24-hour urine jb? Don't know it is necessary, but wondering. The "pee cup" tests aren't always reliable. And it would surprise me, Astroman, if your GFR is off because your creatinine is good.
I think your addressing both of us..?
1)I never had GFR tested yet, I will though.
2)If malabsorbption was the case with me, I would think protien would then show up in booth protien poop and pee tests, but both were normal. And I can build muscle.
3) I wonder if I still dont take in enough protien (hard to believe though).
4) or if protien is converting to something else in my body.
