Vaccination is a confusing topic for me as well. I recently got a flu shot. No problem. But before that, I got a bunch of different ones, can't remember all of them, and I missed the second round. But now I test positive for Hepatitis A (I think it was Hep A...) which was shocking. I was thinking it was autoimmune related from the Lyme n Cos. I had thought of being one of those maximum exposure/maximum immunity types, but this is not wise when you have a compromised immune system due to the Lyme Disease. Right?
I still don't know if that was the right thing to do or not. I got as many vaccines as there were available, hoping that when I get the chance to travel, I'll be covered somewhat.
But I don't know where I got Hepatitis A. I've heard that the Hepatitis A vaccine can make you test positive afterward. It is the milder of the Hepatitis family, thankful for that.
To vaccinate or not to vaccinate?
The polio vaccine, the wheelchair guy, with the sign that says "this is what non-vaccine polio looks like".
I mean you could say the same for untreated chronic Lyme. "this is what untreated Lyme disease looks like"... as I know there are some wheel-chair bound from it as well. Same thing. Except people ridicule and dismiss tick-borne infections (because of some very toxic politics involved.)
Yeah no one takes TBD's seriously, except for the 300,000+ or so per year that get it, and their doctors, if they are lucky enough to be LLMDs. Well there's millions (1,000,000+'s) worldwide easily, now but I digress...
...so confusing. ::sad face
Not to mention the vaccination contamination debates currently simmering.
If I could get my brain back, I might do more research on the actual science of it and finally get down to the brass tacks of it.
But yeah...I'm still confused here too, sandyfeet.
One last thought, speaking of immune memory going haywire because of this bacteria multiplex, it is troubling I'm pretty sure my blood test (TORCH) came up "active" for CMV (Cytomegalovirus) somehow, whereas most people have it (carry the CMV as adults), but are symptom free.
