Confused Why EBV & Mycoplasma Results are Worse

Just over two months ago, I got EBV and mycoplasma p. tests back that showed very high, positive results. Today, I received results from follow-up tests for both EBV and myco that were not only not improved, but worse. For instance, mycoplasma pneumonia IgG/IgM 1100 two months ago and today's results showed it at 1440. EBV results in every area were higher. Don't want to wear you out with all the numbers.

Have been treating mycoplasma with My-P from Researched Nutritionals. Though I have read EBV does not respond well to treatments, naturo has had me taking Microbinate, also from Researched Nutritionals. I stopped taking it about a week ago because it has monolaurin and olive leaf extract it, both of which have given me problems in the past. Have to be careful what I take because of kidney issues.

I feel dead tired most of the time, and have had a late afternoon low-grade fever occur everyday for at least two months. Confused on why, it appears, things have gotten worse, or is there something I'm not seeing or understanding?

EBV seems to get worse with treatment. It's more like a response to the bacteria that are already wreaking havoc in your system and doesn't necessarily need treatment on its own. I'm not sure about mycoplasma though, hopefully someone can answer that.

jb - I thought I had heard treatment can make it worse for a while. Thanks for response.

Afternoon low-grade fevers sounds like bartonella, if I remember correctly. Buhner had a chapter in his bartonella book about treating concurrent infections with bart and myco.

My kids' doctor explained that as you kill bacteria, they break apart, and the tests read the pieces the same as whole bacteria. That often makes the numbers increase for awhile.

That's actually how she plans to tell if one infection is active or not -- if the titers go up with treatment, she'll consider it active.

WalkingbyFaith - I had heard before it is Bartonella, then someone mentioned babesia. But I tend to think Bart and will find Buhner's book about it. I also wondered if EBV or myco P. could cause it. By late afternoon-early evening it hits, and I get so tired for about an hour or two.

Dahlias - That would make sense. It threw me because I have been treating myco. consistently and was surprised to see it higher on results. Sometimes the nautro I see has answers and sometimes not. That's why I go to this forum and ask questions, read or try and answer those I have some idea about. Thanks.
