What would you drop? Antibiotic question

Hello. My daughter just started Rocephin 2g once a day for 6 days a week. Dr wants to keep her on oral doxy 300mg, rifampin 600mg (suppose to increase this to 1200mg), zyth 500 mg, tindamax 3 days a week, and mepron 2 tsp a day. It’s a lot! She has finally started making progress and I think adding rifampin a couple months ago in addition to some biofilm treatment has helped as she seemed to really bounce back and forth between Bart and babs. Still this is a pretty intense protocol. Thinking I’d drop either the zyth or doxy. Any thoughts on which would be a better choice?? Thanks!

Girlie yes she takes all except the tindamax daily. I know what you’re saying about the mepron and rifampin both together. They are not usually prescribed together. Over the last year, she seemed to really be bouncing back and forth between Bart and babs. We would hit one and the other would flare so her dr just kept her on both. Tried using bactrim with the doxy or zyth but it didn’t seem to be enough for her bartonella. She’s on a higher dose of mepron so to hopefully account for the loss since she’s taking it with rifampin. For now I’d like to keep her on both. She’s finally making some progress after being mostly bedridden for most of the fall and winter. Was just thinking maybe the zyth and doxy together was over kill. Not sure. Why would you drop the doxy as opposed to zyth?

I’ve recently mention minocyline for that very reason girlie. I don’t know why her dr wasn’t on board with switching at the time. Talked about it during a phone consult only briefly so I’ll bring it up again at the next in person appointment. I’d like to switch to that.

Do you all feel zyth is absolutely needed with mepron? Or can you pair it with doxy and mino instead?
