Need Legal Help & Prayers - Mold, Contractor caused leak

A contractor caused water damage and we need a mold remediation company to take care of the damages. Contractor told us to talk to his lawyer (didn’t name the lawyer). We tried to handle it ourselves and could not financially. Also remediator backed out and haven’t been able to get anyone to do the repairs.

Our homeowners insurance doesn’t cover water damage caused by a contractor. Everyone has told us we need to talk to a lawyer, but we don’t know what kind of lawyer. We are about to lose everything. We already sunk $10k replacing the roof and having outside repairs done to prevent water intrusion. It’s just me and my elderly mother. We’re really scared.

I have been smelling mold from the street since the roof was replaced and have gotten much sicker since being exposed. I won’t even ride in the car with my mother to check the mailbox at the street anymore because I have reactions in the car. She does too but is is in denial. We both get burning tongue and I get burning scalp even from the street. My mother is affected too but can’t smell it. The contractors who have been in and around the house say they can’t smell anything.

The leak occurred May 3rd so over a month and still no resolution and no help in sight while our house just gets worse. Our homeowners policy will be cancelled if we can’t move in by July 15th.

We are living in a nightmare and can’t even sleep for worrying about what to do.

Fellow Christians, please pray for us. We need God’s miraculous help in this situation. Thank you.

WBF - I’m so sorry you’ve got all this to deal with. It must be so overwhelming .

When I’m overwhelmed I make a list of the things I plan to do to tackle the problem - it takes it off my mind (somewhat) and eases the stress.

I’m not a religious person but I said a prayer for you - hope it counts.

I'll be praying for you and your mom. I hope you can get your roof fixed soon. It's really terrible to be allergic to your own house.
